FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to country singer and political commentator Alexis Wilkins, with the couple announcing the news on social media.
Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photograph of herself with Patel, 46, on Sunday, October 4, showing off her engagement ring. She captioned the post: “Went and got the law involved .” Patel reposted the announcement on his account.
Patel and Wilkins have been dating since 2023, before Patel became FBI director in February 2025. Wilkins was present when he was sworn in as the agency’s ninth director.
Wilkins is a country music performer who released her debut EP, Grit, in 2023. She has also worked as a political commentator and has been associated with conservative organisations.
Their relationship has previously attracted public attention because of Patel’s use of government resources. Democratic lawmakers have questioned his use of FBI aircraft for trips that appeared to have no law-enforcement purpose, including travel connected to events where Wilkins performed.
Wilkins also performed at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall earlier this year, an event that became controversial after several artists withdrew over concerns about its political associations.
