ACCRA, Ghana — In an official statement released to delegates, party members, and the public, John Boadu expressed profound gratitude following his election as the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Addressing the rank and file of the party, Boadu described his election as a great honor and accepted the victory with a commitment to responsibility, service, and unity.

A Victory for the Entire Party

Reflecting on the outcome of the internal elections, Boadu emphasized that the result represents a collective win for the party rather than an individual triumph. He extended a message of partnership to fellow contestants, stressing the importance of their experiences, ideas, and continued participation in party affairs.

"From this moment, there are no winners and losers, only one NPP, united in purpose and determined to win in 2028," Boadu stated, signaling an immediate focus on party cohesion following the internal contest.

Strategic Priorities: Rebuilding Structures and Youth Engagement

Outlining his vision for his tenure as National Chairman, Boadu highlighted key operational areas intended to strengthen the party's grassroots and institutional foundation:

Internal Collaboration: Pledging to work alongside the General Secretary, newly elected national officers, regional and constituency executives, the Council of Elders, MPs, TESCON, communicators, and voluntary groups.

Institutional Discipline & Integrity: Focus on rebuilding internal party structures, promoting discipline, ensuring fair internal election processes, and supporting member involvement.

Youth & Tertiary Outreach: Plans to reconnect with youth demographics and revitalize the party's presence within tertiary institutions across the country.

Focus on Consultation and Reconciliation

Highlighting his approach to leadership, Boadu noted that diversity of opinion within the party serves as a source of strength rather than division. He committed to an open-door policy centered on broad consultation across all levels of the party.

"Unity does not mean uniformity," Boadu affirmed, adding that the future trajectory of the NPP will rely on the collective efforts of the entire membership, leadership, and supporters alike.

With internal elections concluded, the NPP leadership turns its attention toward organizational preparations and strategic planning for the upcoming 2028 general elections.
