NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye has clarified his comments about an alleged drug laboratory in Ghana, saying the scale of narcotics linked to the country suggests it could be more than a transit point.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, said he was not claiming to know the location of any alleged drug laboratory.
“Who will reveal the exact location of a drug lab to you? By telling you it is in Greater Accra or this place when it is an illegality?” he asked.
He said his remarks were based on concerns raised by experts and the scale of drug trafficking.
Nana B cited a recent cocaine seizure in France and also referred to a seizure at Pedu Junction.
“Just look at what was seized in France; it is about 80 bags of cement. I have listened to a lot of experts,” he said.
He added that intelligence reaching him suggested it was possible the seized drugs did not pass through the normal scanning point but were instead taken through another route onto the ship.
Nana B also questioned Ghana’s reported position in the Antwerp drug ranking. “Look at the Antwerp drug ranking. Number 5: Are we not worried?” he asked.
“This means that for you to be number 5, it is like there is a depot because the quantum is not small,” he said.
Nana B said he was also concerned after the President tasked the heads of security agencies to investigate the matter and submit a report.
He questioned how people allegedly involved in such a scheme could be expected to produce an authentic report that might expose or implicate them.
His comments follow Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s clarification of his own description of Ghana as a potential “hub” for cocaine-related activities.
Afenyo-Markin said he used the term metaphorically and was not claiming that Ghana is a cocaine hub.
