Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has reassured supporters that the club remains determined to defend its position following reports about the outcome of the Premier League’s long-running financial case.
In an open letter published on the club’s official website, Al Mubarak said the legal process was still ongoing and that Manchester City remained confident in its position.
“The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began,” he wrote.
The chairman said the club could not provide further details because of the confidentiality surrounding the proceedings. He added that even his letter had undergone legal checks before publication.
Al Mubarak also urged supporters to consider Manchester City’s previous statements on the case, including the club’s response when the Premier League announced the charges in February 2023.
“While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed,” he said.
The letter follows reports that an independent panel had found City guilty of the majority of the 115 alleged financial rule breaches. However, Manchester City’s official position is that the Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements still to be completed. No sanctions have been announced.
Al Mubarak ended his message by directing attention to the club’s upcoming fixtures, including a trip to Anfield and a Champions League meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.
