Greater Accra NDC Regional Chairman Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore has rejected a JoyNews report alleging that the Attorney-General’s Department has recommended his prosecution, describing the publication as inaccurate and misleading.
In a press statement dated October 23, 2026, Ashie Moore said the report was damaging his reputation, particularly ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
He also defended his record as regional chairman, highlighting the NDC’s performance in the 2024 general elections, when the party won 29 of the 34 parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region.
Ashie Moore attributed the outcome to the collective efforts of regional, constituency and branch executives, parliamentary candidates, grassroots organisers, volunteers and party supporters.
He said attempts to undermine his reputation through what he described as misinformation would not erase the party’s electoral achievements.
“I remain resolute, focused and unwavering in my commitment to the NDC, its grassroots and the continued strengthening of our great party,” he stated.
Ashie Moore urged JoyNews to verify its claims, correct any inaccuracies and ensure its reporting did not unfairly damage reputations.
He maintained that the party’s performance in the region remained a collective achievement that could not be diminished by what he described as misleading headlines.
The statement comes amid attention surrounding the reported recommendation for his prosecution, which Ashie Moore has disputed.
