Ghanaian Highlife musician Bisa Kdei is set to introduce a new annual music event aimed at celebrating the country’s rich Highlife heritage and bringing lovers of the genre together.
Dubbed “The Convention,” the inaugural edition is scheduled for December 20, 2026, at the Underbridge Annex in East Legon, Accra. The event is expected to combine live music, entertainment and cultural experiences centred on Highlife.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to become a regular fixture on Ghana’s entertainment calendar, with the first edition laying the foundation for an annual celebration of the genre.
The Convention will provide an opportunity for Highlife enthusiasts from Ghana and beyond to come together and experience the music while celebrating an important part of the country’s cultural identity.
Bisa Kdei, known for his contribution to contemporary Highlife, has been active in Ghana’s music industry for nearly 15 years. The musician has released several successful projects and received recognition for his work in promoting the genre.
