The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned power interruptions in selected communities in the Eastern and Central Regions from Tuesday, October 20, to Wednesday, October 21, 2026, to allow engineers to carry out maintenance works.

The company says the exercise is intended to improve electricity supply and service delivery to households, businesses and institutions in the affected areas.

On Tuesday, October 20, the outage will affect Apeu-Wawase, Shematare and surrounding communities. Power supply is expected to be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The maintenance exercise will continue on Wednesday, October 21, affecting Moree Township, Amosima, Akonoma, Eguase and nearby communities in the Central Region.

For these areas, the interruption is scheduled to run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

ECG has urged customers in the affected communities to take note of the announced timetable and make the necessary arrangements ahead of the temporary outages.

The company regularly undertakes planned maintenance on its distribution network to address technical needs and improve the reliability of electricity supply.

Residents and businesses that rely on electricity for daily operations are encouraged to plan around the scheduled interruptions.
