NPP Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has launched a highly personal attack on Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) Executive Director Raymond Archer over the arrest and detention of Manhyia South Member of Parliament, Baffour Awuah.
Speaking at the NPP National Delegates Conference at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 3, 2026, Abronye made the provocative claim that Archer’s “manhood is not working,” alleging that the EOCO boss is therefore envious of men whose manhood is functioning.
The comment was made against the backdrop of the ongoing detention of Baffour Awuah by EOCO.
The Manhyia South MP was arrested after reporting to EOCO following an arrest warrant obtained by the anti-graft agency. His arrest forms part of investigations into alleged financial offences, including alleged financial loss to SIC Savings and Loans, money laundering and tax-related matters.
The case has generated strong reactions within the NPP, with party members and supporters questioning the circumstances surrounding the MP’s arrest and continued detention.
Abronye’s comments at the party’s national conference took the criticism a step further, shifting from the legal and political issues surrounding the case to a direct personal attack on the EOCO Executive Director.
By alleging that Raymond Archer’s manhood is not working and linking that claim to supposed envy of other men, Abronye sought to portray the EOCO boss as acting out of personal resentment in his handling of Baffour Awuah’s case.
The allegation, however, remains a statement made by Abronye and has not been independently established.
EOCO has maintained that its actions concerning Baffour Awuah form part of an ongoing investigation and that the agency is operating within the law.
The controversy surrounding the MP’s detention comes at a significant moment for the NPP, as delegates from across the country have gathered in Kumasi for the party’s National Delegates Conference.
Abronye’s remarks are likely to add further political heat to an already contentious case involving one of the party’s sitting Members of Parliament and a major state investigative institution.
As investigations continue, the legal process will determine the substantive allegations against Baffour Awuah, while Abronye’s comments have introduced a highly personal dimension to the political debate surrounding the case.
