Dolly Parton’s longtime manager has accused the late singer’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, of making threats and attempting to intimidate employees and business associates involved in managing her estate.
The allegations were contained in court documents filed by She’s Alive LLC, the company established to manage and protect Parton’s professional legacy. The company has sought a temporary restraining order against Seaver following his dismissal as head of security.
According to the filing, Seaver allegedly sent a series of threatening messages in the weeks before and after Parton’s death on August 25, 2026. The company claims his conduct created fear among staff and business partners.
The filing alleges that Seaver threatened to damage Parton’s brand and told her entertainment attorney, “I’m a killer.” He also allegedly described himself as an international arms dealer and mercenary.
Parton’s management company said the situation had affected its operations, with some employees reportedly resigning or avoiding the office because they felt unsafe. Private security was also reportedly arranged for some staff members.
Seaver, however, has denied that his messages amounted to threats. He told TMZ that some of the comments were private exchanges made while grieving and described them as “rage talk,” while maintaining that he stood by some of his statements.
Seaver, who is the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, had been responsible for the singer’s security for years and was the person who publicly announced her death.
The court will consider the restraining order request as the dispute over Parton’s estate and business interests continues.
