Barker-Vormawor,Private legal practitioner and social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor has called for deliberate reforms to make Ghana’s justice system, public sector recruitment and procurement processes fairer and more transparent.
In a Facebook post dated September 27, 2026, Barker-Vormawor argued that Ghana would not collapse if the country strengthened respect for the rights of accused persons and reformed its bail system.
“Ghana will not collapse if we respected accused person rights. Ghana will not collapse if we sanitize bail rules and avoided using bail and its denial as punishment,” he wrote.
He also criticised bribery and called for an end to both paying and demanding bribes, while advocating merit-based recruitment into the public sector.
According to him, public procurement opportunities should also be openly advertised to ensure that all Ghanaians have a fair and impartial opportunity to compete.
Barker-Vormawor further called for the digitalisation of court records, streamlined virtual filing processes and improvements in the efficiency of Ghana’s court system.
“Ghana will not collapse if we intentionally make it fairer,” he stated.
He ended his message with a call for citizens to pray for a better Ghana and actively work towards achieving that vision.
“Act on it, for faith without works is dead!!” he added.
