Lawyer Isaac Ofori Mensah, who represents two alleged victims in the sexual abuse case involving the interdicted headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS), says one of the students has withdrawn her complaint.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Mensah said the student and her family had indicated that they no longer wished to pursue the matter during ongoing police investigations into allegations against Zakaria Abdulai.
He explained that the first student had identified another student who was in Tarkwa at the time.
The police subsequently invited the second student to assist with the investigation, but upon her arrival, they learnt that the first student had withdrawn her complaint.
“When the second student came, the first told us she had withdrawn her case. The witness also later alleged that the headmaster touched her inappropriately,” he said.
Mr Mensah raised concerns about the pace of the investigation and the fact that Abdulai had not yet been arraigned before a court.
He said the handling of the case had raised concerns about fairness and the progress of the investigation.
The allegations against Abdulai remain under investigation, and he has not been arraigned before a court, according to the lawyer.
