The Attorney General has filed an amended charge sheet against Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, in the GH¢30 million Exim Bank case.
The new charge sheet increases the number of charges against him from four to five.
The amended charges, filed at the High Court on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, include defrauding by false pretence, two counts of uttering a forged document, money laundering and intentionally causing financial loss to a public body.
The previous charge sheet, which contained four charges, will be withdrawn and replaced with the new one.
When the development was brought before the presiding judge, Justice Halimah El-Alawah Abdul-Baasit, on Tuesday, the case was adjourned to October 13.
The adjournment will allow the Attorney General to withdraw the previous charge sheet and file the new one, after which Wontumi will be asked to enter his plea.
Wontumi is facing the charges together with Thomas Antwi-Boasiako, who is currently at large, and Wontumi Farms Limited.
Before the latest development, the three accused were facing four charges under a charge sheet filed on May 15, 2026.
An earlier attempt to reach a plea bargain with the state broke down, leaving the case to proceed through the normal trial process.
