Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Chairman COKA, has pledged that a future NPP government will prioritise youth empowerment and job creation.
He made the pledge during a thanksgiving tour by the newly elected Ashanti Regional NPP executives to churches in the region following their victory in the party’s August elections.
Chairman COKA criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government over what he described as its failure to deliver on promises to create jobs for young Ghanaians.
He also called on churches to pray for the NPP ahead of the 2028 elections, expressing confidence in the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
COKA also raised concerns about what he described as restrictions on freedom of expression, alleging that citizens risk arrest for expressing their views on national issues.
“We no longer have the right to express our views freely,” he said, while promising that a future NPP administration would protect free speech.
On the Computerised School Selection and Placement System, he claimed some Junior High School graduates remained at home without Senior High School placements.
