The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has declared Frank Danquah, wanted over his alleged involvement in suspected narcotics-related offences.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, September 22, the Commission appealed to the public for information that could help authorities locate him. NACOC has provided a toll-free hotline, 0800 307 307, for anyone with information on his whereabouts.
The Commission did not disclose the specific offences allegedly linked to Danquah in the notice. However, NACOC's wanted-persons records cover offences under the Narcotics Control Commission Act, 2020 (Act 1019), including the unlawful importation or exportation, possession or control, and prohibited business involving narcotic drugs or plants.
NACOC has stressed that Danquah's inclusion on the wanted list concerns alleged offences, and that he remains presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
The development comes amid heightened attention on suspected narcotics trafficking linked to Ghana. Earlier this month, French authorities seized approximately 3.9 tonnes of suspected cocaine from a container originating from Ghana, while investigations have continued in Ghana. Six people have subsequently been remanded in connection with that case.
However, NACOC has not stated that Danquah is connected to the France cocaine case.
The Commission is urging anyone with credible information about his whereabouts to contact the authorities.
