Police in the Central Region have arrested three suspects, including a female juvenile, in connection with the death of a 34-year-old mobile money vendor at a guest house in Kasoa.
The suspects, identified as Felicia Osei Appiah, 59, Clement Opoku Yeboah, 24, and a female juvenile whose identity has not been disclosed, were arrested on Tuesday, October 28, 2026, according to the Central East Regional Police Command.
The deceased, Christian Amponsah, was found dead on Sunday, October 25, after the guest house manager reported the incident to the police.
Preliminary information indicates that the juvenile suspect had booked a room with Amponsah for a two-hour period. When the booking time elapsed and neither occupant emerged, the manager reportedly went to check on them.
He subsequently discovered Amponsah lying lifeless in a pool of blood and alerted the police.
Officers who responded to the scene conveyed the body to the Police Hospital morgue in Accra, where it was deposited for preservation and autopsy.
The three suspects are currently assisting police with investigations as authorities work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine the alleged involvement of each person.
In a statement, the Central East Regional Police Command said investigations were ongoing and that steps were being taken to put the suspects before court.
The Command also commended members of the public and other stakeholders whose information helped the police apprehend the suspects.
Police have not publicly established the motive for the killing, and the suspects have not been convicted of any offence. Further investigations are expected to clarify what happened at the guest house.
