The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has assured the public of its readiness to defend the country’s territorial integrity and respond to any threat to national security.

General Officer Commanding the Southern Command, Brigadier General Edward Awaribey, gave the assurance at the 2026 Static and Firepower Demonstration at the Battle Training Camp in Bundase.

He said the military remained prepared to deal with external aggression and other threats through continuous training, improved equipment and lessons drawn from security operations across the region.

“Let me use this opportunity to assure the nation that the Ghana Armed Forces remains motivated, mission-oriented, mission-ready, highly trained, well-equipped, and prepared to respond decisively to any form of aggression or destabilisation,” he said.

The event brought together military personnel and showcased the Armed Forces’ equipment, firepower and operational capabilities as part of efforts to demonstrate its preparedness for evolving security challenges.
