National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has urged aspirants who lose in the party’s constituency executive elections to accept the results and remain committed to strengthening the party.
He appealed to the Ketu North Constituency Delegates Conference at Weta in the Volta Region on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah explained that he had stayed away from constituency elections across the country to avoid influencing delegates or creating the impression that he favoured particular candidates.
He said his position as National Chairman required him to remain neutral so he could unite members after the elections, regardless of who emerged victorious.
“Everybody in the NDC is my friend and family member,” he said, explaining that openly identifying some members as friends could make others feel excluded.
He urged unsuccessful aspirants not to interpret defeat as a rejection by the party, noting that only one person could occupy a particular position at a time.
Mr Asiedu Nketiah encouraged those who lose to remain active in the party, assuring them that other opportunities to serve could arise in the future.
He also appealed to delegates to elect candidates they considered suitable and urged all aspirants to accept the outcome in good faith.
The NDC chairman expressed confidence that the party would emerge stronger from the internal elections if members remained united after the results were declared.
