The incumbent NDC Chairman for the Asunafo North Constituency in the Ahafo Region, Charles Yaw Brefo, says he can lead the party to defeat the NPP again in the 2028 general elections if delegates retain him.
Speaking to the media at Goaso on September 24, 2026, after filing his nomination forms, Mr Brefo said he had the experience and strategies needed to retain both the parliamentary and presidential seats for the NDC.
He pointed to the party’s performance in the last general elections as evidence of his ability to lead the constituency to victory and urged delegates to give him another mandate.
Mr Brefo also questioned the ability of the two other candidates contesting the chairmanship to protect the NDC’s parliamentary seat in the constituency.
He therefore appealed to delegates to retain him, arguing that his experience would help the party maintain its position in Asunafo North ahead of the 2028 elections.
Meanwhile, another candidate for the chairmanship, Kwame Adutwum, also known as Odeefour, has urged delegates not to retain the incumbent, accusing him of failing to introduce policies aimed at improving the welfare of party members, particularly those at the grassroots.
Mr Adutwum promised to make the welfare of party members a priority if elected, saying this would help make the NDC more attractive to supporters across the constituency.
